Even the worst of days can be great if you're skiing with the right people!!

First of all, I work for the greatest company in existence. At Backcountry.com they have a really awesome perk, which is the use of SkiUtah Gold Passes. For those of you outside of Utah, this is what that is...they are season passes that are good at any resort in Utah and can be used by more than one person (a typical season pass is non-transferable). Backcountry.com owns 7 of these passes and as employees we can earn points to use them by doing awesome things. Apparently I'm kind of awesome because I received two gold pass points recently. So today I took advantage of one of those points and used a gold pass to ski at my favorite resort, Snowbasin. I love Snowbasin for reasons too many to mention but perhaps my favorite love for Snowbasin is the people I get to ski with when I am there.

We left Salt Lake at 7:00 am in very rainy and icky weather. Still looking forward to a great day I kept an optimistic approach, believing that the day would still be great. And it was!! First thing in the morning I met up with my favorite ski buddies, the Patterson's. At one point in the day I thought I had found a great jump....turns out I was wrong. The jump itself was great...the landing, not so much. I ended up in a tree!!!! As you can imagine lots of laughs were had by all and the day ended up great, even though we couldn't see where we were going most of the time.

  1. Hi there my cute Brookie friend. I love that picture of you laying in the snow. Totally reminds me of some skiing experiences I have had. What's even funnier is the old guy in the background just standing there staring at you. I zoomed in on the picture and he's looking at you like "What's the problem there?"

  2. I agree with you on the guy in the background! He makes the picture even funnier than it already is. I really did some damage to that tree, I left several rather large broken branches in the wake of this crash, but it was the source of much laughter so it was worth it.
