"nothing else will do, i've gotta have you..."

i know i've said before that the weepies have a song to fit every moment of life. even this one. and this is a really big moment, perhaps the biggest in my life so far. my puppy was born today. at 1:24 pm i received this text message:

kirstin: "PUPPIES!!!!"

yeah, i was excited...REALLY excited. i had been in bed for hours trying to fight off the approaching cold virus that i felt coming on. but when i received this news my rest came to an abrupt end. i was out of bed, dressed and ready to hit Petco in no time flat.

i came out of there with lots of puppy gifts and supplies. even some presents that weren't for the puppy but about the puppy.

needless to say i can't wait to bring the little guy home. i can't wait to teach him how to be the best dog ever. i can't wait to hike with him this summer. i can't wait to take him for bike rides in his puppy bike trailer.

i want to live a simple life

last night was a fun one.
after work i picked up my new bike trailer. yes, i did it. i said i was going to and i did. i bought a trailer to pull behind my bike for my dog to ride in. after picking up my exciting new purchase i dropped a few things at the d.i. which put me just two blocks from petco...of course i had to go in. after all, i had a new coupon for $2 off of any purchase.
yes, i bought a name tag for him. i got him the most expensive one because it was cute...he's spoiled already.
then i was off to my house. i had a new bike trailer to assemble. i've wanted one of these forever. well, not a dog one but a trailer that i could go the the grocery store with. a trailer that i could use to ride my bike into the mountains with camping gear in tow and spend a weekend in the wilderness. now i have one. and i'm excited.

oh boy. this is where things got a little nerve wracking. so many parts. please don't make me read the instructions....

ahhh...now i have ALL of the necessary tools to make this happen. thank you, teton amber ale.

oh, and then there was this. i never was a girl for the boring orange flag. this sticker spiced it up nice and gave it the perfect amount of humor. i'll be proud to claim my trailer when i walk out of the grocery store and this flag is flying.

and for this one my thanks goes out to teresa. thank you for the sticker that turned a once boring and bland orange flag into a flag the others will envy. :-)
once she was put together i had to hook the trailer up to edna. the ensure the perfect fit and that everything worked as it should.
i thought about taking them for a spin around the block. but then i remembered that it was 10 degrees outside, dark, and i had to carry them both upstairs. nah, i think i'll take them for a test drive later.
it's okay. laugh at me. i know you want to. but either way, i'll get to take my dog on my bike rides with me and for that i will endure the ridicule.
see you this spring on the streets of ogden...until then, stay cool.
