WELCOME TO UTAH, FLAT STANLEY!!! Today when I got home from work I discovered the arrival of an expected guest. He was patiently waiting for me to pick him up from the mailbox and was accompanied by the following letter from one of my most favorite little guys:
Dear Brooke,
In school we read a book about a boy who got smashed by a bulletin board. His name is Flat Stanley. He wanted to go on a trip, so his family mailed him to California.
In class we made Flat Stanleys. I am mailing my Flat Stanley to you. Please take him somewhere with you and then write back and tell me where he went. If you take photographs or pick up postcards, please send them also. I will take Flat Stanley back to school and share his adventures with my class. There is not a time limit on this activity, so if you have a special trip planned, you may want to wait to take Flat Stanley then.
Thank you for helping me with this project. I wish I were flat so I could fold myself up and visit you.
Love,
Eli
Awwww, my little Eli. He is Julie's (my cousin) 5 year old son and one of the cutest 5 year olds EVER! Since Flat Stanley just arrived today and has spent a long 6 days traveling to get here he needs some rest. Tonight we had a pizza party to celebrate his arrival and now we're relaxing so he can rest and be ready for a big day tomorrow. He says he is really excited to see all of the cool things here in Salt Lake City!
