Today we high-tailed it out of
Utah on our next adventure. This was the
kind of adventure where the pups get to stay with grandma and grandpa while we’re
gone. They just hate being spoiled the
way only grandparents can spoil. I wish I
could pretend that we won’t miss them. We
will certainly be having our own fun and “spoiling” with good beer and majestic
views as far as the eye can see but I would be crazy to pretend I won’t miss
those furries and their drool and their incessant barking and their
hyperactivity and…..well, you get the picture.
We dropped the four-legs at grandma and grandpa’s this morning and
hitched a ride to the airport. Here we are
at 4pm mountain time, flying over British Columbia on our way to Ketchikan via
our connection at Sea-Tac.
This flight has invoked some
emotion (the good kind) and thoughts for this old girl (probably because Chris
is taking advantage of air travel and sleeping which forces me to shut my mouth
long enough to think about something…). Thinking
is good. I realized recently that I
haven’t done enough thinking and reflecting in the last year. It’s been a whirlwind, to say the least but I’m
happy that I accomplished so much. As we
fly to Alaska and I’m forced to think, due to these silent conditions, I
remember how excited I was last year to see Alaska for the first time. Now that I have last year’s experience and
memories, I’m equally excited because I know what I’m in for. So much beauty. Lots of nature. Time with great friends. Fish. Fishing. Plenty of laughing and more fun than I could
ever fill the interwebs with stories of.
Just the way we like it.
