you've gotta know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em

i've never been much of a gambler.  i just like to drink.  although, there was that one time in wendover with becca...  i stayed up late at the blackjack table on someone else's twenty bucks and then woke up in time the next morning for mimosas and watching the hawkeyes slaughter the gophers.  that was a good time.

so, that being said, chris and i are picking up our lives and moving to Reno Nevada.  yep, the biggest little city in the world.  we'll be there.  work can do some cool things to your life.  we are lucky to work for a company that gives us both a lot of opportunity and cares about its employees.  chris was offered a job at our new facility that will be in action next fall.  i'm proud of him.  he's going to slay it there, just like he does here.  i will continue my current job and work from home...or potentially in an office (if there is one).  i'm looking forward to a new adventure and consider myself lucky that i get to share the adventure with my one and only.  the move will keep us busy until we go in october.  in the meantime, we have two houses to sell and a whole lot of stuff to sort through.  we have a lot of people to spend time with, a lot of beer to drink, and a lot of dinners to eat.  9 months seems like plenty of time, but something tells me it will pass by much faster than i realize.  my house went on the market yesterday.  i'll get to see the for sale sign in my front yard today when i stop by.  bittersweet excitement.  i put a lot of sweat equity into that house.  it was my first house.  there is a part of me that is sad to let it go but the rest of me is looking forward to the adventure ahead.

between now and october i'll be listening to "the gambler" by kenny rogers.  let's get together and have a drink, go for a bike ride, ski, have dinner, do anything cool.
